RZD Logistics to launch Samara-Beijing container services

In February, RZD Logistics will launch a new container train from Samara to Beijing as the first flour containers within the test dispatch have already departed to Beijing from Besymianka Station (Samara).
After entering regular service, approximate delivery time-frames will be 14 days, the company says.
For the purposes of such export area, a business meeting of RZD Logistics, Kuibyshev Railways, TransContainer responsible executives, Samara Region Ministry of Agriculture and Food Products and Ministry of Economic Development, Investments and Trade representatives was held in Samara. The parties discussed prospects of exporting agricultural products and opportunities of product portfolio enhancement for shipments to China from such region of Russia with a Chinese party – Capital railway resources, a railway company.
A meeting in Beijing will take place shortly with Chinese consignors for the co-ordination of all details on a regular container train service on Beijing – Samara – Beijing route.
“For us, railway non-resource export service in 2017 has become one of key projects that we spent a lot of efforts for. And I see the result of our fruitful work – it is, first of all, a great interest of Russian and Chinese customers in the delivery of various goods. Having analyzed the Samara Region product potential, we have started service geography scaling just from such region. Other Russian cities are next in turn”, Viacheslav Valentik, RZD Logistics General Director said.
The service is implemented in cooperation with the Russian Export Center with support from TransContainer, RZD and Freight Village RU terminal (Vorsino, Kaluga Region). Delivery is performed to Dalian (via Russia) and Chengdu (via Mongolia).
