Russia and India sign MoU on railway investment

On 1st June, RZD International the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and a subsidiary company of Indian Railways Ircon International Limited (IRCON) signed the Memorandum of Understanding for Investment Cooperation in Railway Sector.
“We plan to form a joint working group to find out possible ways of implementing such projects, based on the international experience of RZD International and IRCON with the financial assistance of RDIF,” Sergey Pavlov, Director General of RZD International said.
The document lays the foundation for promoting co-operation between the parties in the form of joint participation in railway investment projects in Russia and India, serving long-term economic interests of both countries.
The MoU was signed in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, by the Director General of RZD International Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy General Director of RDIF Tagir Sitdekov, Chairman of Ircon International Sunil Kumar Chaudhary.
