PKP PLK concludes a EUR 85.5 million rail deal for Silesia

PKP PLK-Silesia railway_csm_CMK3_9a67bafb04Trakcja PRKiI-led consortium and Polish Railways (PKP PLK) signed a PLN 374 million rail deal (EUR 85.5 million) for the design and construction works for a railway line in the south Polish province of Silesia. The partners of the consortium include ZUE Company and Strabag. Construction works will be executed over a period of 30 months.

The task includes the restoration of technical parameters of the railway line sections with a total length of approx. 60 km, located on the section Chybie – Zory – Rybnik – Poverty / Tur. The investment will perform the renovation surface contouring of the substructure for 139 turnouts. The contract involves the execution of works traction, electricity and drainage, modernization of railway traffic control system and repair of passenger Infrastructure at the 21 platforms and 2 pedestrian crossings. In addition, 58 culverts, 17 overpasses and 13 bridges will be rebuilt.
