Network Rail extends collaboration with Nomad Digital

Passenger and fleet connectivity solutions provider Nomad Digital has extended its contract with Network Rail in provision of on-train connectivity servers. Network Rail’s infrastructure monitoring fleet, which surveys the UK’s rail infrastructure to monitor the health of the railway and aid early detection of potential issues, uses a number of technologies including ultrasonics, track geometry and plain line pattern recognition. The infrastructure monitoring fleet collects terabytes of data from across the country every day, while Nomad’s on-board connectivity servers enable Network Rail to transmit this vital data to their off-train data storage for processing and analysis.
“Nomad is proud to be a part of delivering this vital information for analysis through the provision of our connectivity infrastructure,” Jean-Philippe Tissot, Nomad’s Chief Commercial Officer, said.
