MÁV-Start to launch carriage production

MAV Start-IC trains_free-wifi-hungary-train-600x400Hungarian state-owned railway company MÁV-Start Zrt. is scheduled this year to launch production of an InterCity carriage, which was developed by the company, Hungarian media reports. The company anticipates the project will cost approximately HUF 6 billion (EUR 20 million). The passenger unit of railway company MÁV has already made two prototypes of the IC+ carriages.
The first 20 carriages will be produced at the company’s base in Szolnok, central Hungary, and the first carriages are expected to be inaugurated in the second half of 2017, while the last carriages could be put into operation in 2018, MÁV-Start announced.
