Maryland chooses partners for the Purple Line Light Rail

Maryland-light rail line_AAEAAQAAAAAAAAWaAAAAJGM1YzgyOTVhLTc1OGQtNDA2Ny05ZTExLTRhOTQzMmY3ZGQzNQMaryland has selected the partners to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Maryland Purple Line Light Rail Project (26 km) in the Washington Metropolitan Region. This partnership with private industry, commonly referred to as a public-private partnership (PPP), is expected to promote the successful delivery of the project.
Purple Line Transit Partners comprises construction company Fluor Enterprises, French Global investment firm Meridiam and infrastructure developer Star America.
The Fluor-led design & build team, Purple Line Transit Constructors, comprises Fluor Enterprises, The Lane Construction Corporation, Traylor Bros., and includes subcontractor Atkins North America as the lead designer. The Purple Line Transit Constructors team will begin design and construction later this year with passenger service currently scheduled for spring 2022.
Once construction has been completed Purple Line Transit Operators, a Fluor-led team comprising Fluor Enterprises, Alternate Concepts, and Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) USA, will provide 30 years of operations and maintenance services.
