Malaysia and China sign contract on the supply of 22 EMUs

On April 11, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive and Malaysia Ministry of Transport signed the contract for the supply of 13 hybrid EMUs and 9 high-speed EMUs. All vehicles will be delivered at the end of 2018.
The hybrid EMUs are designed for 1,000 mm gauge and are able to run at 100 km/h. The vehicles, with 4 cars each, will have a capacity of 500 passengers.
The hybrid EMU will be powered by electric power plus super capacitor. When the train brakes, more than 85% of the braking energy can be absorbed by the super capacitor for the use of the train starts next time. It is achieving energy recycling and reducing waste of resources.
