Kazakh rail manufacturers receive certificates under Customs Union regulations

Kazakh domestic railway companies received certification under the Customs Union requirements. Among the companies that received certificates, are Electric locomotive kurastyru zauyty-EKZ, electric locomotive manufacturer formed by Alstom, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Transmashholding; Lokomotiv kurastyru zauyty- LKZ, an electric locomotive manufacturer owned by GE Transportation and Transmashholding; “Kazakhstan wagon-building company”, a subsidiary of Kaztemirtrans; LLP “R.W.S. Concrete” that is manufacturing reinforced concrete beams for turnouts.
We remind that starting June 2017, the EKZ joint venture became the first train manufacturer in Kazakhstan to receive the IRIS certification (International Railway Industry Standard), based on the ISO 9001 standard.
On August 2nd Kazakhstan completed the actions of the transitional provisions of the technical regulations of the Customs Union. The domestic enterprises of railway engineering completed the work on certification of products under the new uniform requirements in time.
“The current year has become a landmark in the transport industry in connection with the completion of the transition period on the entry into force of the technical regulations,” Batyr Kotyrev, chief engineer of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy said.
The KZ8A series electric locomotives, TEP33A and TE33AS diesel locomotives, freight wagons of model 12-9846, produced at the Kazakhstan plants, successfully completed the whole complex of running, dynamic and braking tests in different climatic conditions for operating requirements from + 50°С to -50°С in Kazakhstan.
The tests were carried out at specialized test sites of KTZ, including straight sections and curves of different radii, turnouts and gradients of different sizes, to assess all the characteristics of the rolling stock in real operating conditions.
The results of the tests confirm the complete conformity of the products with the safety requirements in accordance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union.
The receipt of certificates is a confirmation of the high degree of competitiveness of products manufactured by railway engineering enterprises, which is exported not only to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, but also to other foreign countries, KTZ said.
