Indonesia: Soekarno-Hatta Airport railway station to operate in early 2018

IndonesiaState-owned railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operating Region 1 expects the Soekarno-Hatta Airport railway station to become operational by early 2018. “Currently we are pursuing infrastructure development targets that must be completed in December 2017, so that the station can already operate in early 2018,” said Head of Public Relations at KAI Operating Region 1, Suprapto.

The railway line that will provide a link to Soekarno-Hatta Airport is 36.3 km long The rail project includes the new Sudirman Station and the new station at Soekarno Hatta Airport, as well as the revitalization of the Duri and Batu Ceper stations.

The installation of digital radio devices, Upper Electric Flow System, procurement and installation of upstream power grids, telecommunication infrastructure and signaling infrastructure are still in progress. Several contractors involved in the skytrain project were asked to work extra for the acceleration of completion of the project.
