Hitachi Rail has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SBS Transit in Singapore to strengthen collaboration in the development of smart mobility solutions. The agreement aims to explore opportunities in fare collection technologies, operations, and digital innovation.
As part of the MoU, both companies will work together to enhance transport systems in Singapore by applying advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. These technologies are intended to support improved operational efficiency, passenger experience, and revenue protection.
The initiative will be supported by the Hitachi Digital Competence Centre in Singapore, which will contribute expertise in research and development. The partnership will also focus on nurturing local talent and driving sustainable growth in the transport sector.
