Greece: one bid for Thriasio rail freight terminal

greece new freight terminalGreece received a single bid to build and run a new rail freight terminal in Thriasio, near Athens, which will turn Greece into an international hub, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Minister Christos Spirtzis said.
The bid was submitted by ETVA, a subsidiary of Piraeus Bank which develops and manages industrial parks, and Goldair, a Greek cargo and logistics services company.
“After 12 years of inactivity, problems and delays, but also two unsuccessful tenders in 2006 and 2009, the creation of the freight center in Thriasio is a reality,” the minister said.
The investment is worth more than EUR 250 million.
