Fare dodgers owe Polish rail companies almost EUR 50m in fines

04-pkp-intercityPolish rail companies are owed 209 million PLN (48,5 million euros) by people who were travelling without a ticket and failed to pay the fines after getting caught, according to Radio Poland. The figure increased by 6% compared to last year. Up to date, 246,000 issued fines still remain unpaid. The data was gathered by the Economic Information Bureau (KRD).
