EUR 150 million for Swaziland Rail Link project

rail SASwaziland Minister of Transport Lindiwe Dlamini announced that EUR 150 million were invested for Swaziland Rail Link project. The project had seen both pre-feasibility and feasibility studies being undertaken, Swaziland Railway CEO Stephenson Ngubane said.
The project involves the construction of a new railway line that will link Lothair in Mpumalanga and Sidvokodvo in Swaziland. For this project, Swaziland Railway and Transnet Freight Rail signed in 2012 an Inter- Governmental Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The project is estimated to be completed in 2017.
