Turkish State Railways (TCDD) announced the winner of the tender for Ankara – Izmir high speed rail section Afyon – Uşak(Eşme) Kesimi. Thus, Doğuş Construction in partnership with Tekfen Construction won the tender worth TRY 879 million (USD 302 million). The completion of construction works for the 76 km long section is estimated for 36 months.
The 624-kilometer-long high-speed train line project that will connect Ankara and İzmir in the west is being built in three phases.
Infrastructure work is underway on the railway’s section between Ankara and Afyon, a western city near İzmir.
