Colas Rail obtains rail contracts in France and UK

Colas Rail, the rail subsidiary of the Colas Group, has secured two maintenance contracts for the French rail network awarded by SNCF Réseau, for a total of approximately EUR 300 million in a consortium with TSO (a subsidiary of NGE).
The first contract, for a period of three years with an option for two additional years, concerns the renewal of ballast on 374 km of track and crossings on 160 km of track for four high-speed lines (LGV Nord, LGV Atlantique, LGV Paris Sud-Est and LGV Méditerranée).
The second contract involves the renewal of overhead lines across the entire French rail network, for a period of five years with an option for two additional years. For this contract, the consortium bid with an innovative technique designed to industrialize the work process by using purpose-designed trains.
In addition, Colas Rail Ltd, a British subsidiary of Colas Rail, has been awarded a seven-year track maintenance contract by Network Rail. The £225 million (EUR 255 million) contract covers the supply, operation and maintenance of heavy railway equipment. In addition to its current fleet, Colas Rail Ltd will invest in high-performance machines that will enable Network Rail to improve service to UK rail operators.
