CNR to build metro trains for Boston

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s board of directors voted unanimously to approve a contract with CNR MA Corporation to build 284 new subway cars. The contract value is USD 566.6M.
CNR has pledged to build the metro trains at a new, USD 60M factory in Springfield that would become its U.S. headquarters.
The first trains will be delivered in 2018, and are expected to help increase the subway system’s capacity and decrease passenger wait times.
