China: first successful run for Xiangyang-Ningbo-Zhoushan Port train service

04-chinaThe regular train service Xiangyang-Ningbo-Zhoushan Port completed its first run at the beginning of March. 20 containers loaded with automobile bulk parts and other cargoes departed from Xiangyang Railway Station for Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.
The whole running time of the regular train service is around 50 hours, about 2 days less than the previously sporadic transport services or 4 days less compared to river-sea intermodal transport.
In the initial stage, the regular train will run once every ten days. Then, it will gradually increase frequency and provide better and more efficient logistics service for enterprises in Xiangyang and the surrounding regions.
The successful operation of the regular train service further consolidated the position of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in the sea-railway intermodal business market in the Xiangyang region.
