Bulgaria to build rail connections to the industrial zones

Bulgarian Ministers of Transport and Economy discussed the construction of some railway connections to the industrial facilities of the country.
The project is stipulated in the five-year investment programme of National Railway Infrastructure Company. Within the programme, BGN 40 million (EUR 20.4 million) are envisaged for construction of new industrial tracks (sidings) to the manufacturing bases in the country.
During the meeting, the Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev required assistance from the Minister Teodor Sedlarski for promoting the concept among the business in Bulgaria and in particular among the newly constructed industrial zones.
National Railway Infrastructure Company is expected to prepare an analysis on the return of the investment as well as an assessment of the volume of potential freight volume.
The construction of the new railway connections to the manufacturing zones will lead to economic benefits as for the railway infrastructure and railway undertakings as well as for the business.
