Rendel and OTB Engineering in association with HR Wallingford, Railway Engineering Associated and BCL Associates has been appointed by DP Rail to provide engineering services for a freight railway project in Bangladesh.
The implementation study to be carried out by Rendel and OTB Engineering will finalise the route alignment and the design criteria as well as the costs of building the 240km railway, leading up to production of design and build documents.
DP Rail signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Railway to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the rail link between Dhaka and Payra Port on a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) basis.
