Minister of Transportation and Communications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed said that the detailed studies for the Bahrain railway network will be finalized in the first quarter of 2017.
The minister explained that according to the studies made in the past period, the consultant will decide the best way to design and implement the project, as well as the cost and technology to be used.
The length of the railway network is approximately 105 km. The first stage will have 25 km and a monorail system is expected to serve 17 stations.
