Askar Mamin, re-elected head of the Development Committee of TITR

Askar Mamin_04182f122a588f68c154b17cf2cPresident of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways – KTZ), Askar Mamin, was re-elected Chairman of the Committee on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
Tbilisi (Georgia) hosts the 64th meeting of The Commonwealth Member State Rail Transport Council. On the eve of the meeting, the members held a regular meeting of the Coordinating Committee for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), chaired by the President Kazakhstan Railways.
Trans-Caspian International Transport Route runs through China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and then goes to Europe.
„During the existence of this structure, since February 2014, a significant work has been done on building an effective tariff policy, the introduction of a single technology transportation of goods, the establishment of joint integrated logistics product Nomad Express, the first transit container train running on the route and the set up the Trans-Caspian International Transport Consortium, formed by the number of countries – participants of the Trans-Caspian corridor. Today, the Committee represents railway, marine, port authorities, logistics companies from seven countries: China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Romania and Ukraine”, Askar Mamin mentioned.
During the meeting the member state discussed the establishment of competitive rates on TITR concerning container, wagon and container traffic.
To improve the efficiency and coordination of the development of traffic on the TITR route and the committee as a whole, it was proposed to organize a permanent office of the Coordinating Committee on Development headquartered in Astana.
Trans-Caspian International Transport Route offers great opportunities and potential for the development of container transport and also contributes to the growth of trade on the Eurasian continent.
