Ardanuy Ingeniería to develop a rail control center at Barcelona Port

Barcelona Port Authority and Ardanuy Ingeniería signed a contract for the implementation of a railway control center. The contract has an option for a 2-year extension.
Ardanuy Ingeniería will be involved in the entire life cycle of this new railway facility from its functional design, to defining the works that will need to be contracted, assistance in selecting the best contractor’s offers and, in its final stage, carrying out the works management for the different projects that will be executed.
The future railway control center will manage and coordinate the railway operation of the Port of Barcelona. This will include a Centralized Traffic Control Center (CTC) as well as the remote controls and subsystems deemed necessary.
Currently, 12 rail logistics operators serve Barcelona Port with a total of 65 weekly train services on direct connections from port terminals APM and BEST and 33 weekly rail services from continental terminals of Morrot and Can Tunis to Spain, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, and the Netherlands.
