Additional Coradia Nordic to be delivered to Östgötatrafiken

Alstom will supply 3 more Coradia Nordic trains to the Swedish local railway operator Östgötatrafiken. This order is in addition to their current fleet of 15 trains and they will be delivered in the spring of 2019.
”I am very proud that our trains are to the full satisfaction of our customer, and that Östgötatrafiken now chose to increase their fleet of Coradia Nordics, co-producing with Skänetrafiken,” Björn Asplund, Managing Director for Alstom in Sweden said.
The Coradia Nordic train delivered to Östgötatrafiken consists of four cars, is 74 meters long in total, and has a capacity for up to 510 passengers. The 97% recyclable train will run at a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
Alstom is currently delivering an additional 30 trains to Skånetrafiken, another Swedish regional public transport operator, and these new units for Östgötatrafiken will be an add-on to that production line notably regarding the car body shell production.
The trains will be built in Alstom’s site in Salzgitter, Germany.
