Montecargo records profit in H1

Montenegrin state-owned rail cargo operator Montecargo went to a net profit of 352,739 euros in the first half of 2017 from 351,725 euro loss in the same period of last year. The company recorded an operating profit of 368,316 euros, versus an operating loss of 349,277 euros in the first half of 2016, while revenues rose to 4.3 million euros from 2.8 million euros in H1 2016.

Operating costs, in turn, rose by 27% year-on-year to 3.97 million euros. The company ended the first half of the year with assets worth 21.6 million euros. The Montenegrin government directly controls a 85.44% stake in the capital of Montecargo.
