Works on Stara Pazova–Novi Sad section are on schedule

RZD International has constructed more than 10 km of track between Stara Pazova and  Injia, on the 40-km Stara Pazova – Novi Sad section, part of Belgrade – Budapest railway line.

The works will soon will reach the point of 20 km. 2 track-laying complexes UK-25/18, delivered from Russia specially for the purpose, are used for the works. This is a unique to Serbia technology which serves to improve the terms of works and guarantees the high quality of the track.

Also, a double-track railway bridge with the total length of 500 meters is being built near the Beska railway station. RZD International has started the works on the viaduct at KM55 and finished construction of the two-level railway interchange at KM41 of the Belgrade – Budapest line. The current progress on the projects totals 24%.

In addition, the works continue for the construction of a 3-km long viaduct with the gallery in the floodplain of the Danube river and a double-track tunnel in the Chortanovci area. To date, the tunnel is 59% complete and the viaduct is 63% ready. The ongoing works on the RZD International projects are being carried out in compliance with the schedule. The construction and reconstruction of the Stara Pazova – Novi Sad railway section are scheduled for completion in 2021.

Under the USD 248 million agreement, the Russian company is responsible for the  construction of a double-track railway line, 2 viaducts, 2 galleries, 19 bridges and overpasses and 36 small bridges. Moreover, the company will build the new station Beska with the pedestrian underpasses, will reconstruct Injia, Sremski Karlovci and Petrovoradin stations with pedestrian underpasses as well and the Karlovacki Vinohrady roadside station.
