Ukrzaliznytsia to set up operator to manage railway stations

Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia intends to create a separate operator to manage railway stations, Interfax reports. “We have a large number of railway stations. All these facilities and their operations should be centrally managed. The lease, use of stations, public private partnership – we plan to carry out this only through Prozorro.Sales,” Yevhen Kravtsov, the acting board chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia, said.
He expressed conviction that the strategy for the development of railway station facilities and the service for customers should begin with setting up a station operator. “During this year we plan to separate it in the passenger company and create a separate strategy, rules and plan for the development of this operator for the coming years,” Yevhen Kravtsov added.
