Ukrzaliznytsia, together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), began preparing the tender documentation which stipulates, in the first phase, the procurement of open wagons. This acquisition will be followed by the procurement of self-discharging cars.

“Under the financing agreement signed with EBRD, we will buy a total of 7,000 wagons, open wagons and self-discharging cars. The acquisition will be divided on lots of 1,500 units”, pointed out Vladimir Krot, Design and Technical Support Director of Ukrzaliznytsia.

The tender will be launched in September and EBRD will grant a loan worth USD 150 million for the procurement of open wagons.

Both domestic and foreign companies are expected to participate in the tender.
