Transmashholding delivered the 4 traction units to Stoilensky plant

Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ), part of Transmashholding, has completed the contract for the supply of NP1 alternating current traction units for Stoilensky Mining and Beneficiation Plant, in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region, one of Russia’s largest iron ore producers.
NP1 consists of three traction units, with an electric locomotive section and two motorized dump cars. It is designed to operate on the mining tracks. The traction unit is equipped with 2 asymmetric central and 4 side current collectors. The rated power of an original NP1 with 2 dump cars is 7.600 kW.
The NP1 locomotives meet all modern requirements for the operation in mines, work effectively in difficult climatic conditions and with increased dust content. They have high traction power, and are equipped with four braking systems, which increases the safety of control.
The contract for the delivery of 4 NP1 traction units for Stoilensky plant was signed in September 2018.
