First trams arrive at the airport station ahead of the service opening this year, 12 months ahead of schedule. “The testing process is a key stage of getting the line ready as we test every inch of the route, including road junctions and train drivers, and look to seamlessly introduce the new service to a busy network. “With 15 stops on the way, this new line is going to help people right across Greater Manchester travel to some exciting new destinations”, Peter Cushing, Metrolink director at Transport for Greater Manchester said.
