Trains to be launched on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route

Tren ruta-Trans Caspica_containerRegular railway trips are planned to be launched on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route in 2016, Kanat Alpysbayev, vice-president of the Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) announced.
53 container trains are also planned to start running on this route before late 2016.
Alpysbayev said an international consortium is being created within the KTZ Express (a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Railways), Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping, Azerbaijani Karvan Logistics and Trans Caucasus Terminals (a subsidiary of the Georgian Railway) to organize and improve regular container transportations via the Trans-Caspian route.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route stretches to Europe from China, through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
