TMH signed agreements to develop Nigerian railway industry

Transmashholding director general, Kirill Lipa, and the Nigerian Transport Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, signed a Memoradum of Understanding for the supply of new rolling stock and maintenance services which would be performed at a local assembly plant.
The agreement was signed during Russia-Africa Economic Forum, where TMH concluded agreements to develop Nigerian railway sector.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate to develop the railway industry and upgrade the railway equipment and systems in Nigeria.
TMH will work closely with Nigeria to establish the collaboration principles, conducting ongoing consultations, exchange of experience, as well as other work necessary to deepen cooperation.
The second concluded agreement was signed by Kirill Lipa and Emmanuel Akabe, the deputy governor of the central state of Nasarawa.
TMH and Transcontinental infrastructure company limited (TCIC) signed a MoU to develop transport engineering segment and the Nigerian railway fleet.
Nigeria is interested to procure modern and comfortable passenger cars, freight cars, locomotives and other railway vehicles, as well as to develop local assembly activities. In addition, TMH will offer support to the Nigerian government by manufacturing the needed rolling stock and providing maintenance services for the supplied railway vehicles.
