Italo’s high-speed trains will feature a campaign dedicated to the Rolling Stones through Christmas. Passengers will find content on board about the band’s history, as well as contests and promotions related to the release of the album “Foreign Tongues.”
The Italian private rail operator Italo and the record label Universal Music Italia have launched a joint campaign dedicated to the Rolling Stones, which will run through the end of the year on high-speed trains in Italy.
The initiative accompanies the release of the new album “Foreign Tongues”, available starting July 10, and will bring the British band’s music and history aboard Italo trains.
The campaign is taking place across the operator’s entire high-speed network and includes trains from the AGV and EVO families, which Italo uses on the main routes between major Italian cities.
Campaign on AGV and EVO Trains
Passengers will encounter advertising and editorial content dedicated to the Rolling Stones on the trains, as well as in Italo magazine, available on board and in the Italo Club lounges at major Italian train stations.
The content will feature albums, key moments in the band’s career, and stories from the band’s more than six decades of activity.
The partnership also includes promotions for Universal Music Italia’s online store, as well as contests with prizes for fans.
Through July 31, Italo is offering Rolling Stones CDs and vinyl records—including the new album—via its RedCarpet platform. Another contest is scheduled for November.
Music on Major High-Speed Routes
The campaign will reach millions of passengers traveling on Italo trains on high-speed routes between cities such as Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Bologna, and Florence.
For the operator, the project represents an effort to transform the journey into a cultural and entertainment experience, beyond simply traveling between two cities.
“Italo is always ready to support art in all its forms. We are proud to embark on this journey alongside Universal Music Italia, on the occasion of the release of the new album by a band that has made history in the world of music,” said Dora Bonadies, head of network and market development at Italo.
A Music Catalog Promoted on the Railroad
Through this project, Universal Music Italia aims to bring not only the new album but also the entire Rolling Stones catalog back into the public eye.
The record label is banking on the fact that high-speed trains bring together very different types of passengers, from commuters and businesspeople to tourists and families.
“Few artists have a repertoire as well-known as the Rolling Stones’, with songs that have spanned generations and continue to be landmarks of musical culture,” said Eleonora Bianchi, director of digital and consumer services at Universal Music Italia.
The campaign began on July 1 and will continue through the winter holidays. During this period, the Rolling Stones will be a constant presence aboard Italo trains, through editorial content, advertising, and contests for passengers.
