The 2026 UITP Summit in Dubai has been canceled

The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) has announced the cancellation of the 2026 edition of the UITP Summit, one of the most important global events dedicated to public transport, which was to take place in Dubai between April 21 and 23.

The decision was made after assessing the security situation in the Gulf region and its impact on international travel, in the context of heightened tensions between Iran and several countries in the region, which have led some national authorities to recommend avoiding non-essential travel to the area.

According to UITP, the cancellation of the summit was decided by the organization’s Executive Board, with the safety of participants, partners, and teams involved in organizing the event as a priority.

Major event for the public transport sector

The UITP Summit is one of the most important international events dedicated to urban mobility and public transport, bringing together operators, authorities, technology providers, and experts from around the world.

The 2026 edition was to be organized in collaboration with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which had been preparing the event in recent years.

The organization said it will continue to maintain contact with the global public transport community and is exploring alternatives for presenting the planned content and facilitating collaboration among its members.

The next edition will take place in 2027

UITP has confirmed that the next edition of the summit will take place in Hamburg in 2027, with Hong Kong hosting the event in 2028.
