Thales not interested in selling transport activities

07-thalesAccording to the French press, Alstom could be interested in Thales’ transport activities, especially in rail signalling. According to several sources, Rothschild Bank would already work on this file for Alstom.
However, Thales said it intended to maintain transport activities in a letter sent by the company’s CEO Patrice Caine to the French President François Hollande, Prime Minister Manuel Valls and to other four ministers.
“Thales plans to develop its global signalling activity which is intended to become one of the core branches of the group”, Thales CEO Patrice Caine said denying an attempt to sell transport activities to Chinese Group CRRC. “The CRRC agreement is strictly commercial – it is not an exclusive agreement and it is most definitely not a capital agreement”.
