Temporary station at Abbey Wood opens as part of major Crossrail improvements

abbey wood station design - architects impressionThe temporary station that includes a staffed gate line, ticket machines and windows, a cash point and, for the first time, lifts to all platforms was opened, as part of that Crossrail improvements. Work will shortly get underway to remove the existing station building.
The new, two-level station will open in 2017 and will be built above two new dedicated Crossrail tracks and those used by North Kent services. The design includes:
