Strukton Rail finalizes acquisition of Eltel’s Danish operations

Strukton Rail A/S has announced that it has recently taken over Eltel’s Danish activities in the operation and maintenance of rail systems. The final transaction, which was completed at the end of January 2018, includes maintenance contracts for Sund & Bælt and railway maintenance equipment. The acquisition also means that 26 previous Eltel employees will switch to Strukton Rail.

For Strukton Rail Denmark, the new business segment involves strengthening in the technology areas of overhead line and track maintenance.

“We are very pleased with our new colleagues and the addition of Eltel’s Danish railway activities. The acquisition means that Strukton Rail Denmark has acquired a new ‘competence-leg’ in the overhead line, while strengthening our expertise in signalling and track. The maintenance contract for Sund & Bælt will also play a significant role in our continued development of railway maintenance and asset management. Here we have skills that will be important in our continued work on developing strategies and technology that can optimize rail maintenance,” Jens Christian Jensen, CEO of Strukton Rail Denmark, said.
