Some of Hungary’s new Stadler trains delivered

By the end of 2019, 11 large capacity double-decked trains will run on the railway that links the cities of Vác and Cegléd.
According to Hungarian Railways (MÁV-Start), the first coaches have already arrived and have been delivered to Dunakeszi workshops for checks and testing.
The trains manufactured by Stadler will start operation on Budapest–Vác-Szob route and Budapest- Cegléd-Szolnok route. The acquisition contract was signed in April 2017 by MÁV-Start and Stadler. The trains will be capable to accommodate 600 passengers on seats.
The contract is estimated at HUF 60.55 billion (EUR 194 million).
Overall, 40 such trains will be delivered. Their procurement was financed through the Operational Programme Integrated Transport (IKOP).
