SNCF Voyageurs has presented an ambitious two-year development plan for TGV Atlantique, setting out substantial increases in capacity and service improvements for Centre-Val de Loire and the wider South-West. The strategy responds to sustained growth in demand on the high-speed network and is designed to support mobility needs across all territories served.

Traffic on TGV INOUI routes between Île-de-France and the Atlantic coast continues to rise, supported by regular additions of new seats and new service offerings. SNCF expects growth to accelerate further over the next two years, driven by major service enhancements.
1. Major offer increase in 2026: 1.5 million additional seats
The year 2026 will mark a significant expansion, with nearly 1.5 million extra seats added on services towards the South-West. The increase begins on 14 December, when OUIGO Grande Vitesse, SNCF Voyageurs’ low-cost high-speed brand, launches a new daily round-trip between Paris and the Basque coast, with fares from €19 one-way.
Additional capacity will follow through doubling of trainsets on several peak-hour TGV services in both directions — notably 07:45 and 17:08 from Bordeaux, and 08:01 from Paris. From spring 2026, a new midday departure at 12:54 from Paris will also be added.
These enhancements will benefit all travellers across the TGV Atlantique network, improving comfort, availability and travel options.
2. New inter-regional high-speed services in 2027
Lyon–Bordeaux: a new OUIGO link under study
A new OUIGO service between Lyon and Bordeaux is being examined for entry into service by mid-2027. The proposal includes a daily high-capacity round-trip (1,288 seats) serving Massy TGV, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, Poitiers and Angoulême, with a total journey time of around five hours.
New Tours–Bordeaux TGV connection
In 2027, TGV INOUI will also introduce a new inter-regional high-speed connection between Tours and Bordeaux, serving Poitiers and Angoulême, designed around the region’s specific mobility needs.
The schedule will significantly extend travel opportunities:
- Arrival in Bordeaux by 08:00 (instead of after 09:00 today)
- Return from Bordeaux around 20:15 (instead of 18:30)
This improved timetable will benefit business and leisure travellers, enabling full-day or extended half-day stays in Bordeaux.
3. Further timetable improvements for La Rochelle and the South-West
SNCF will also carry out timetable optimisations providing earlier or later travel options on several routes:
- Around 30 minutes earlier arrivals from Paris on weekdays for Dax, Pau, Lourdes and Tarbes.
- Extended evening service for La Rochelle, Niort and Surgères, with the last departure from Paris moved to 19:48.
