Škoda strengthens its position in Switzerland

The Škoda Group has officially become a member of the Swiss-Czech Chamber of Commerce, marking a strategic step in strengthening the company’s operations in the Swiss market as well as in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), one of its strategic European markets.

This membership opens up new opportunities for developing economic cooperation, exchanging know-how, and creating strategic partnerships with key players in the Swiss and Czech economies.

The Škoda Group’s accession as a member of the Swiss-Czech Chamber of Commerce “is a natural continuation of the development of our activities in Switzerland and throughout the DACH region. This step will allow us to be even closer to our partners, to actively engage in professional dialogue, and to expand business opportunities. We already collaborate with numerous Swiss suppliers who contribute to essential components of our projects,” said Jan Harder, President of West & North at the Škoda Group.

The Swiss-Czech Chamber of Commerce (HST) has long supported the development of economic relations between the two countries and provides a platform for connecting companies, exchanging experiences, and generating new business opportunities.

The organization brings together approximately 150 members from Czech and Swiss companies and regularly organizes specialized seminars, conferences, and networking events.

Škoda’s Presence in Switzerland

The Škoda Group is already active in Switzerland through concrete projects in the field of railway infrastructure modernization and digitalization. Current activities include cooperation with Speno International on the integration of the European Train Control System (ETCS) into specialized railway maintenance vehicles. The project includes engineering and certification services for the system’s implementation on 15 vehicles in the so-called “yellow fleet,” as well as managing complex operational authorization requirements across multiple European countries.

A robust supply chain has also been established with Swiss companies, which provide both complete solutions and components and materials used in the production of vehicles and related technologies.

Škoda Group is among the leading European suppliers of public transport solutions, with products and technologies deployed in numerous countries. The DACH region remains a strategic area in terms of innovation, technological standards, and the volume of investments in rail infrastructure, where the group is constantly expanding its operations. Its presence is not limited to rail transport; the company also holds a strong position in the supply of trams and other zero-emission urban mobility vehicles.
