Signalling contract awarded for a new Eastern DFC section

Larsen & Toubro awarded Kyosan Electric and Kyosan India a contract for the supply and installation of the signalling system on the 136-km railway line linking Mughalsarai and Sonnagar / Chirailapathu, part of India’s Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (Eastern DFC).

L&T won the contract for the electrification, station construction and signalling system for this railway line in Uttar Pradesh state.

Under the contract, Kyosan Electric will be responsible for the design, supply and supervision, while Kyosan India will manufacture, procure, testing and commissioning the signalling systems in collaboration with TVM Signalling and Transportation Systems Private Ltd, the which is part of Kyosan group.

Previously, Kyosan has signed contracts for the Vadodara-Mumbai and Rewari-Dadri sections on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (Western DFC). By now, the company signed contracts for 683 km of railway lines split in three sections on the two DFCs.

India’s two DFCs cover a distance of 2,843 km, of which the Eastern DFC has a length of 1,337 km and the Western DFC, 1,506 km.
