Siemens Mobility collaborates with Poznań University of Technology

Siemens Mobility and Poznań University of Technology signed a partnership agreement concerning cooperation in the scientific and didactic areas. The company will support the development of the rail vehicles specialty at the second-degree course in mechanics and vehicle construction at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport.

“Joint projects, apprenticeships and lectures by experts from Siemens Mobility will further prepare our graduates for the challenges facing the rail vehicle industry in Poland. It is also an opportunity to develop the staff of our university and strengthen its position at home and abroad,” JMR of Poznań University of Technology, Prof. Teofil Jesionowski, said.

The didactic cooperation will cover a very wide area of the company’s activities, especially issues relevant to the field of study: the railroad industry in terms of innovative technologies for the manufacture and operation of means of transport, safety in rail transport, or monitoring the technical condition of rolling stock.

Within the framework of the partnership agreement, the company will be responsible for, among other things, organising and carrying out professional internships for students and graduates of the university, thematic lectures by Siemens experts at the Faculty, reference visits to the company’s plants, and cooperation in the preparation of these and the implementation of special projects.

“The cooperation means sharing knowledge and carrying out teaching activities for future generations of engineers and railroad specialists in the region. We are pleased that we will be able to do this together with Poznań University of Technology. Many graduates of this university work at Siemens Mobility daily,” said Piotr Haremza, Head of Customer Service Siemens Mobility, said.
