Serbian Railways to launch the tender for the acquisition of 27 trains

Serbian RailwaysSerbian Railways is working on procurement of equipment and new diesel engine trains, 12 of which have already been purchased and 27 are yet to be bought, Chairman of the Serbian Railways Board of Directors Zoran Andjelkovic announced.
In addition, the company wants to invest EUR 1.2B in various projects over the next three years.
The projects include the modernisation of the 13.5 kilometre section of the Gilje-Cuprija railway and construction of the bridge on the Morava River. In addition, works started for modernisation of Belgrade-Pancevo railway section which is funded by a Russian loan, the contract being signed for the revitalisation of the Corridor 10 railway section to the border with Croatia.
„The contract has also been signed for the project of Indjija-Novi Sad railway and the contract for the Corridor 10 railway section from Nis to Dimitrovgrad which should be realised from a Czech loan. Project plans also include modernisation of the Corridor 11 railway and completion of the Novi Sad bridge on the Danube and the Zezelj Bridge”, said Andjelkovic.
