RZDL to use Indian container fleet on the North-South corridor

Container Corporation of India (Concor) will provide RZD Logistics its container fleet and equipment to organize and develop transport services on the North-South international transport corridor.

In addition, Concor will organize local logistics services in India, as well as provide sea freight services. RZD Logistics, in turn, will be responsible for organizing freight handling at the multimodal transfer points and container transport by rail.

The agreement re-enforces the cooperation between the two companies. In 2019, the operators agreed to jointly identify and develop logistics projects on the North-South corridor. “Since then, we have reached an agreement with the Indian side on a number of issues, including the use of CONCOR equipment, which will undoubtedly accelerate our joint work on organizing container transport on the North-South international transport corridor,” Dmitry Murev, CEO of RZD Logistics said at the ceremony, which took place in Delhi.

The service agreement will develop the containerized transport services between India and Russia bringing benefits to the importers and exporters. It will also facilitate transit time and cost reduction compared to the existing transport route via Suez Canal.
