RZD orders additional EMUs from TMH

Transmashholding and Russian Railways signed a contract for the supply of three EP3D AC electric multiple units which will be delivered by the end of this year.
According to the agreement, Demikhovo Engineering Plant will manufacture one 6-car and two 4-car trains for RZD which will be put into operation on the Far Eastern Railway.
The EP3D is a new electric multiple unit manufactured by DMZ used for domestic railway transport delivering more comfort and safety services at reduced operational costs. The trains are also adapted to passengers with reduced mobility and have special places for bicycles.
The new EMUs are equipped with passive safety systems (crash system), microclimate system with air disinfection function and modern information systems. The energy-saving set used in the design makes it possible to economically spend electricity.
At the beginning of this year, Russian Railways and Demikhovo Engineering Plant agreed on the supply of 22 EP3D AC electric multiple units.
