Russian Railways Logistics organize complex logistics service for Mikheevskiy GOK

RZDLOGRussian Railways Logistics organize a complex logistics service for copper concentrate handling for Mikheevskiy GOK (mining and processing plant).
Mikheevskiy GOK produces high-quality copper concentrate, which is used as a raw material for smelting of blister copper. The treated concentrate is supplied to the one of the RCC enterprises – CJSC “Karabashmed”, as well as to Kazakhstan and China.
“The company does not have railway sidings, for this reason all finished products had been transported by road. When the plant reached the design capacity of 30 000 tons per month, the decision was made to transfer the material by rail”, – the head of a separate division of Russian Railways Logistics in Chelyabinsk Alexei Plaksin commented.
Material handling was organized at Tamerlane station of South Ural railway. Before starting loading track were reconstructed. Beyond that Russian Railways Logistics arranged solid base to exclude material contamination. The handling involves the use of shunting locomotive and front end loader.
New loading scheme provides stable handling process and on-time shipment, as well as let RCC reduce transport costs and minimize risks while trucking.
