Russia could raise rail freight tariffs in 2018

The Russian government is discussing a 1-2% increase in addition to a 4% increase of cargo tariffs for RZD in 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvrkovich said. “We have not yet made (a decision), we are discussing the topic now. The figures of 1-2% are those which were on the table. But now the Federal Antimonopoly Service has received calculations from RZD, it is analyzing the data, and it will make a conclusion eventually,” he said. In 2017, the company received a 2% markup to a 4% cargo tariff with the aim of spending the money on overhaul maintenance works.
