Romania tenders another major rail section of Rhine-Danube Corridor

EUR 4.2 million feasibility study for the modernisation of Predeal-Brasov section

Romanian state-owned rail infrastructure manager, CFR SA, published the tender for the elaboration of the feasibility study for the modernisation of Predeal-Brasov section, almost 27 kilometers long, part of Rhine-Danube rail Corridor.
The contract is estimated at RON 19.5 million (EUR 4.2 million) and financing will be covered with European funds.
The attribution criteria will follow the best quality-price report, therefore the financial component of the bid will have a share of 40%, the technical offer will have a share of 36%, while the experts’ experience will have a share of 24%.
The duration of the contract will be 23 months since the attribution.
The deadline for receiving bids or requests for participation is 28 January 2019. Offers will be opened in the same day.
The objective of the services contract will be to provide the customer (CFR SA) with the best solution for the execution of railway modernisation works on Predeal-Brasov section, considering the technical, operational and financial aspects, as well as the environmental impact and climate change issues.
The provider will elaborate a feasibility study used to choose the best alternative for the modernisation of the railway infrastructure and will elaborate the necessary technical documentation for getting the permits and authorisations required in the feasibility study phase, together with the tender documentation for the design and execution phase and supervision of construction works.
