Romania has launched another tender for Bucharest air-rail link project

The total estimated value of the contract is RON 420,11 million, excluding VAT (EUR 88,61 million), of which RON 402,71 million, excluding VAT (approximately EUR 85 million) for the execution of the works and RON 17,4 million, without VAT, (EUR 3.6 million) for design services.
The funding source is provided from the EU Cohesion Funds and the State Budget, related to the 2014-2020 financial framework.
The tender launched provides for the procurement of design and execution services related to Phase I – railway line connection at the T1 Terminal, Henri Coanda International Airport Bucharest, an integral part of the “Modernization of the Bucharest Gara de Nord railway line – “Henri Coanda” International Airport Bucharest” project.
The aim of the contract includes the construction of a double track 2.95 km long, a 1.52 kilometer viaduct crossing the DN1 highway, 3 bridges, an electronic interlocking facility and a passenger station at the T1 airport terminal.
The variant chosen for this line will overpass the National Road 1, on elevated runway, and will form a curve on the square in front of the airport.The term of the contract is 14 months, of which 2 months for design and 12 months for execution, plus 60 months warranty period. The deadline for receiving the bids is March 25, 2019. The opening of the bids will take place on the same day at 15.00 hours.
