Record contract for Swietelsky in Poland

Swietelsky Poland

Swietelsky Rail Polska has secured the largest contract in its history after winning a tender launched by the Polish railway infrastructure administrator, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK). The project, awarded under the National Railway Program, has a total value of approximately EUR 200 million.

The contract covers the design and execution of modernization and extension works on a railway line approximately 100 km long, on the Stalowa Wola – Tarnobrzeg – Sandomierz – Ocice – Padew section, one of the most important railway infrastructure projects in the region.

Works until 2027

The construction and modernization works are scheduled to take place until the second half of 2027 and include:

  • modernization of approximately 100 km of railway;
  • rehabilitation of 90 km of contact line;
  • reconstruction of 7 bridges;
  • rehabilitation of 78 footbridges;
  • modernization of 94 switches and 59 level crossings;
  • modernization of 8 railway stations;
  • construction of 17 new platforms.

The project is considered an investment of national importance, with the aim of increasing the safety and quality of rail traffic, as well as reducing travel times.

Regional impact

The modernization of the infrastructure will significantly improve rail connectivity in the area known as “Trójstyk” (Tripoint), contributing to the increased attractiveness of rail transport for both passenger and freight traffic.
