RailSense has acquired Bance, the iconic UK rail brand known for its durable maintenance equipment and a legacy stretching back to 1923. The move strengthens RailSense’s offering in rail safety and maintenance while preserving the trusted Bance name.
The acquisition includes Bance’s renowned trolleys, trailers, and carts, as well as several Network Rail approvals, expanding RailSense’s product portfolio. Bance will continue to operate as a distinct brand within the RailSense group.
“Bance is a respected name in the rail industry with nearly a century of heritage. Our acquisition marks an important step in preserving this legacy while enhancing it with RailSense’s focus on safety and reliability,” said Tristan Lloyd-Baker, CEO of RailSense.
RailSense intends to integrate its advanced monitoring and sensor technologies into select Bance products where it adds safety or efficiency, while keeping the core reliability customers have come to trust.
Existing Bance customers can expect enhanced service and support through dedicated teams and established partners. Distributors will benefit from broader offerings and increased innovation across both brands.
The acquisition will be formally introduced at Rail Live 2025, where Bance’s legacy and future role in modern rail maintenance will be showcased.
This marks a new chapter for Bance, combining tradition with RailSense’s vision for smart, reliable rail infrastructure solutions.
